How do I verify my email address during sign-up?

As part of the sign-up process, you'll receive a verification email at the address you provided. To complete the sign-up, click on the verification link in the email. If you're unable to find the verification email, remember to check both your spam and junk folders. How are session timings displayed according to different timezones?

During the sign-up process, you will be prompted to choose your timezone or the city you live in. This selection ensures that session timings are presented to you in your local timezone. This way, there won't be any confusion about when a session starts. The correct session start time will be displayed based on your chosen timezone. Remember that you can always update your timezone or location in your profile settings after logging in to the platform.

How can I book a session to practice language skills?

You have two convenient ways to book your language practice sessions. The first way is to navigate to the "Get Started" section on the top bar of the platform. From there, select your desired time slot, the language you want to practice, choose a tutor, and proceed to book your session. The second method involves selecting the language you wish to practice from the homepage. Then, choose a tutor and scroll down on their profile to view their available time slots. Select the slot that suits you best and proceed to book. Whichever method you choose, you'll be able to reserve a session that fits your schedule.

When can I book a session?

Sessions can be booked for a time slot that is at least 2 hours from the current time. This means you won't be able to book a session for a slot that's within the next 2 hours, but you can choose a session that's scheduled after that timeframe.

What is the price of a session?

Currently, during the pilot phase, all sessions are offered free of charge. This allows learners to practice language skills while assisting our tutors in gaining valuable experience. As we continue to evolve, we'll provide updates on session pricing. Stay tuned for more information about the pricing structure in the future.

How can I join a live speaking room?

Once you've created an account on HeyHi, you can access your user profile. In your profile, you'll find a section displaying your upcoming live speaking sessions. A "Join" button will be available next to each session, becoming active 5 minutes before the session's scheduled start time. This ensures that you can only join a session within the 5-minute window before it begins. This feature prevents users from attempting to start a session too early or when the live room isn't yet available.

How can I become a tutor on HeyHi?

Can I cancel a scheduled session?

During our pilot phase, there is no cancel button available directly on the platform. However, if you need to cancel a scheduled session, you can do so by sending an email to support@heyhi.app at least 24 hours before the session's scheduled start time. Our support team will assist you with the cancellation process and any further instructions.
